Registering myself to the practice is not a difficult thing. Just call the phone number which you can find it in the internet and tell them that you’re pregnant and you want to register yourself to their practice. They will happily welcome you.
As the first step registration, they will ask few things about yourself: you complete name, your birth date, your address, your phone number, whether you married or not, etc. The most important is your first date of your last period. It’s important so they can count your gestational age and to assign the first date of your appointment. Well, now I’m 6 weeks 6 days pregnant. Wow! It’s second month already.
After they finish with your data, they will send you a questionnaire to your home address that you need to fill in. That questionnaire contains more detail questions about you and your partner, and also about both of your family, especially about the medical history. That questionnaire has to be filled and be brought in the 1st meeting. Also, in that questionnaire stated what else to be brought in the 1st meeting.
Well, yeah, as a closing, they will tell you when your 1st meeting is. Usually, the 1st meeting held in 8 week of pregnancy. Just prepare and wait!
Oh, one thing I almost forget. Don’t forget to consume the folic acid (vitamin B) until your 11 weeks pregnancy. It’s important to prevent your baby from spina bifida (a birth defect where there is incomplete closing of the backbone and membranes around the spinal cord). You may get it without doctor’s prescription in nearest drugstore (I bought it in Kruidvat). Consuming the folic acid is recommended by the midwife when I register myself to their practice.
My 1st meeting is: July 18, 2016.
